CLASSROOM BOOKSHELF
I've been trying hard to encourage my students to read more geography books. I've been compiling lists of geography books they can borrow from the school library while also working on a classroom bookshelf.

PRISONERS OF GEOGRAPHY
By Tim Marshall
I absolutely love the idea of creating children's versions for adult books. This is of course my fave :) I use parts of this book in the curriculum as well.

AN ATLAS OF COUNTRIES THAT DON'T EXIST
by Nick Middleton
What makes a country? It is certainly one of the most important parts f our identities, so have you imagined coming from a place that is not considered a country by some? This debate is becoming more and more urgent in my opinion.

HORRIBLE GEOGRAPHY SERIES
by Anita Ganeri
This is a nice series, students tend to love it. It's quite funny and parts of it can also be using within the curriculum.

THE BOY WHO BIKED THE WORLD
By Alastair Humphreys
This is a lovely book about adventure and it includes a lot of information about countries, continents, rivers, mountains, cultures etc. Great for younger or lower ability readers.
